Not The Wolf And The Lamb But The Cat And Dog Feeding Together.

Regular readers will remember the blog I posted of Fido our beloved Jack Russell and tripe hound and Domino our smallholding cat feeding out of the same dish.  Sadly dear old Fido went to doggy heaven and number 2 son bought Rosie a golden Retriever puppy dog.

On Thursday night we came home and threw my rucksack on the kitchen floor and we fed Rosie.  Domino decided he would try some of the dog food too:

Domino usually hisses and tries to scratch Rosie.  Not this time though.  They both tucked in happily.

  1. Sweet. Our little cat is very fussy - she will only eat (her own food, no competition) when we are both sitting down to eat as well. Once we are at the table, she'll go to her bowl. They are odd little things sometimes.

  2. Thanks the veg artist. They are characters and can be contrary and some funny like people. A cat is a must when you live in the countryside. He keeps the mice and rats away.

  3. Fido was a great name for your Jack Russell. If ever I had a dog I would call him Rover and if I had a horse I would call her Dobbin. Mrs Northsider should knit a little saddle so that Domino can ride around on Rosie's back. Ho! Silver!

  4. Latin for "to trust, confide and obey" YP. I had often heard of dogs in films and old books called Fido but had never actually met a real dog called Fido. So that is what we named her. A wonderful dog. Very kind to humans and a great ratter. Greatly missed. We talk about our beloved canine pals every day. It's like a bereavement when they pass on to doggy Heaven.

Mrs Northsider is knitting scarves at present for Christmas presents. Great names for your horse and dog. Hey Ho! Silver and away!

    1. Ask your lass to knit you one for Christmas. What will you be getting her? How about a new sewing basket/box?

  6. I believe this may be a sign of the apocalypse.

Every golden I have ever met is extremely patient and calm.

  7. Hi Debby. Rosie is still less than a year old and likes to play. Domino is eight years old and he doesn't have much patience.

  8. Who can ever understand cats? I've had cats for years and years and still can't fathom them out. Tell Rosie not to get complacent. lol

    1. Hi Briony. I don't like cats as much as dogs but I would always have a cat living in the countryside next to the sea. Domino is very much his own person. Rosie just wants to play and Domino does not.😊

  9. Hi Linda. Pet togetherness while the food lasts. They are characters those two.
