It was a birthday for J the other day.
One of her birthday cards came all the way from Vietnam and bought by a relative on a visit there this summer.
It's incredibly beautiful and the Vietnamese lady is a hand paper cut and it stands up in the middle of the card:
It's a card that will not be placed in the stove to keep us warm. It will go in a drawer no doubt.Wouldn't it be good if you could buy hand cut cards where we live?
That is a lovely card. Such a thoughtful gift.
ReplyDeleteWe can buy locally hand made cards here but not as exotic as J's.
Belated Happy Birthday wishes to her.
Thanks JayCee. I think it is the most beautiful card I have ever seen.
DeleteIt's beautiful, and worthy of being kept, I have a memory box, which I keep photo's (mainly grand children's school ones) and special cards, I don't keep every card as it would be far too many. Hubby and I started reusing the same card a couple of years ago, we do it for mothers/fathers day, birthdays and christmas, it's a bit of fun and quite a saving.
ReplyDeleteWhat a wonderful idea Marlene. A Memory Box sounds so nice.
DeleteThat is indeed a lovely card Dave. Belated birthday greetings to Jean. I doubt that you got her a birthday gift as having you in her life is itself like a continuous birthday present.
ReplyDeleteThanks YP. I bought her a pair of Jeans and some socks. My birthday is in December. I hope I get a bottle of Dalwhinnie Scottish malt whisky. My favourite!
ReplyDeleteIt is a lovely card and very thoughtful of the sender. I love the Vietnam person with the shoulder baskets. Very Vietnam.
ReplyDeleteThe flowers move Rachel. I am glad you like the card. We think it is beautiful. Thanks Rachel.
ReplyDeleteThat's even better.
DeleteYes.
DeleteA business opportunity.
