It's been very mild weather here the last few days and the plants in the gardens seem to think winter is not on its way yet:
Geranium.Hebe.
Myrtle.
Fuchsia.
Hypericum.
Surfinia.
Soapwort.
Shasta Daisy.
Bergenia.
Nasturtium.
Cape Daisy or Osteospernum.
The days and nights are getting colder but the plants keep putting on a show.
Is your garden flowers still performing?
Our Hebe, Salvia Hotlips and Fuchsia are still doing well but P had to cut back the Osteospermum as he has transplanted it down into the new bed.
ReplyDeleteHopefully it will bounce back bigger and better next season.
I made a lot of new Osteospermums cuttings recently and they are ovdrwintering in the Polytunnel. I lost a lot of mine in 2010. They originate in South Africa and don't like the frost. They are very easy to propagate from cuttings with rooting powder or in a glass of water. Good to read your plants are doing well JayCee.
ReplyDeleteThat is an amazing collection of flowers for November in Northern Hemisphere. I love the fuchsia.
ReplyDeleteIreland is very mild on the Gulf Stream TM. The Fuchsia hedge rows are everywhere it Cork and Kerry. I have also seen them in Cornwall..Fuchsia is named after a German botanist. I don't know how they got here. They are native to Chile. I guess the Spanish brought them or the Gulf Stream?
ReplyDeleteWhat treasures you are finding even still. Thanks for the encouragement.
ReplyDeleteI noticed a tree beginning to bud the other day Debby. I think the seasons are getting mixed up. I hope the little birds don't think it is spring and start collecting nesting material. The flowers cheer us up. Thanks.
ReplyDeleteThere are even roses blooming around here
ReplyDeleteStrange weather/seasons GZ.
ReplyDeleteWonderful colour. Nice to see you have such a variety of flowers as well as leeks and potatoes
ReplyDeleteThanks Linda. I am always taking cuttings and making new plants for free.
