Planting Spudatoes On The Moon.

Apparently those clever lads and lasses in China have landed on the Moon this very morn.  No doubt Gwil will put is in the picture?  Apparently they want to plant potatoes.  Remember the Smash adverts:

I have had one of my ideas.  I think it relates to a Channel Four television programme I never watched a few years ago.  Eh?
Pray let me explain dear readers?
I once listened to a radio presenter talking about last night’s telly.  A group of people who were recruited (press ganged more like) to appear on a programme where “ordinary people” jumped on a plane and traveled to the hmm- MOON.  Yeah I know!
Anyway they all made videos before they set off on their INCREDIBLE Lunar voyage.

One not very intelligent sounding  character said something like the following:
“Good bye every body.  All my school teachers said that  I would never do anything wiv my life and become sum fink.  But look at me now I’m going to the Moon!”

I don't think the plane even set off!

Here's a space track by the brilliant band The Pixies.  You have seen them haven't you Dave?  Yeah way back in 1989 at Glastonbury festival.  It was only twenty eight quid for the weekend.

  2. For Mash get Smash. I think they were Martians.

I was going to play Dark Side Of The Moon: Pink Floyd. Never saw them live (did you?) but I have seen Roger Waters in Warsaw. Amazing guy and amazing Pyrotechnics. Thanks Rachel!

    1. We're in for a dollop of snow. We've only had an inch so far. Good luck with your heel. Have you tried orthotics?
I have a tight calf. I'm trying gentle massage with a black roller and some warm lineaments. I think it's due to the cold piercing winds were having. There'll be landslides and avalanches in a day or two, if not sooner.

    2. Good luck with the snow Gwil. Horlicks? Oh sorry Orthotics, no. Can you mek you're own? Normally have one Buplex and a couple of jungle tablets: parrots eat em all (old joke) paracetamol. Temperatures dropped here too. Just been a six mile walk.

    3. Hope you enjoyed your walk. You might need professional advice and a proper fitting for your orthotic. Or maybe you could try making a few from some old insoles. Are your legs the same length? Mrs G has orthotics otherwise she'd have a problem on her hands walking any distance.

    4. Yes I managed six miles a long the roads today Gwil. Never measured my legs but I measure my feet and realised I should have been wearing size eleven all my life instead of size ten. Will have a go with the insoles. Thanks.

  12. I remember having Smash in the 1970s and 1980s in flat share/bedsit land, and a tin of Marvel. I went for decades without television so missed a lot of the adverts like this Smash one.

  13. I was surprised when you said you didn't remember the Smash advert. Now I know why. Sometimes I watch Top Of The Pops from say 1986 and I won't or can't remember the song?
