Then I went to my plant nursery and planted 30 Cotoneaster horizontalis plants that I grew from cuttings last year. Well we might make use of them I can't sell them at a carboot sale.

I also planted some Ajuga perennials to spread over the heaped soil while the Cotoneasters are growing. I also planted some of my bamboo plants next to the septic tank to camouflage it. It only took me six hours and my back didn't half ache after all that digging andbarrowing. Oh yeah. I emptied the compost pile that Rosie was in the other day and filled the 'borrow' trench. This will decompose and make find compost and replace the soil I took away. Here's some photos:

DeleteI continued working on our decking yesterday. I have jet washed it all, let it dry thoroughly and I have then coated it with decking oil. The weather has been very co-operative for a change. Decking oil is good for massaging backs but folk should not walk on the back for 24 hours.

ReplyDeleteI have been out all day today Dave, gardening. Weeding adding some of my divided plants and some of the plants I bought in Morrisons last year and some how kept alive till now. All the plants are small so it doesnt look like much right now. Funny story, I always thought and pronounced it Cotton Easter. It is rather fitting as it is Easter.

ReplyDeleteI'm proud of the shrubs I 'grew' by layering. All it took was a few lengths of coathanger wire, pots of our own compost and months of patience!
ReplyDeleteWell done the veg artist. Layering is another good way of propagating shrubs. Slit trenches filled with sand work are good for rose cuttings. You should have a blog. I would follow it and comment.
