They say in Ireland you go or drive to Dingle. You don't drive through it.
It's a coastal town in County Kerry that we have visited so many times. Like Killarney it's always full of the world and his wife.
Everywhere is painted up and the locals seem to put their hard earned takings back into the town.
I would say County Kerry is my adopted Irish county and I love the place.
Dingle reminds me so much of a Cornish seaside town or village like Polperro. Here's some photos:
Dingle Harbour.Fungie statue
Self explanatory really.
Idyllic old Kerry coach trip poster.
Bohdran playing busker
The signs made me smile.
Hope you liked the photos?👍
Nothing beats a seaside town with a harbour, shame it wasn't warmer for you, I spent time in my greenhouse, it was warm inside.
ReplyDeleteTotally agree Marlene. It had warmed by the time we were leaving. The carparks were heaving and it was time to go somewhere a bit quieter like Killorglin. I am still waiting my greenhouse/ potting sheds construction. Aren't we having some glorious weather?
ReplyDeleteIt's a good spring, we live in a dry part of UK, so my hose is out regularly, I do enjoy watering the garden.
DeleteYes you live in a lovely place Marlene. I can't get over this fabulous weather.
DeleteIt looks wonderful. I can see why you you enjoy it so much.
ReplyDeleteYou would love Dingle JayCee. Lovely seaside town and Bronte got some kind strokes and smiles. Pretty young girls dressed up for their first communions and every one so nice and polite. Thanks.
ReplyDeleteGreat photos Dave. It is back to very cold here.
ReplyDeleteThanks Rachel. It was very cold in Dingle but warmed up and people dined alacarte outside the pubs and restaurants.
DeleteI never realised that there was a "dolphin shop" in Dingle. I have always wanted my own dolphin. Do you know how much they cost? He or she would live in our bath until I had time to dig a pond in our garden. I might have to hire a JayCeeB.
ReplyDeleteI much would they charge for a dolphin YP? That would be different to own your very own Atlantic dolphin. Would it have a mid Atlantic accent or would it sound Irish or American? I must go back and make enquiries.
DeleteLovely photos.
ReplyDeleteA quaint little seaside town.
I learnt to pronounce bohdran correctly while on my visit to Ireland two years ago
Dingle is charming Angela. I love the Bodhran sound.
ReplyDeleteLove the photos and the humour
ReplyDeleteThanks Linda. You would love Dingle and County Kerry.
