Bolognese Pizza.

I believe this is another one of those meals that have never seen their supposed country of origin.  Apparently Bolognese pizza was not invented in Italy and Chicken Tikka Masala was created in a London restaurant.  It's like one of my old sayings:

"They advertise Persil washing powder on the side of a bus.  But it doesn't mean they sell it."

Any way we first sampled this dish in the Algarve a few years a go.  A young lad stood outside this Italian Restaraunt inviting tourists to dine and he recommended the Sangria and home made Bolognese pizza. He was a cheerful lad and we had a laugh and a joke with him and when in Rome or even Praia Da Rocha, we sampled his recommendations.    We weren't disappointed.  Hopefully one day we will live in Portugal.

Any way (again) the missus made 4 Bolognese pizza's for thirteen Euros yesterday.  She was in a hurry though and bought the bases. Then she put the mixture on top of the bases and put them in the range and I offer you Bolognese pizza made in the farm house.

  1. I love it when you can replicate food you have eaten in a restaurant and then make it at home. Not only saving money, but also if you had it on a lovely holiday you can re-live the magic

    1. Totally agree with you Sol. Variety is the spice of life. Eating and drinking the food you sampled on holiday really brings it all back and makes you think of future breaks abroad or nearer home. I read that English holiday resorts are having a good end to the season because of the weak Pound over seas.

  2. That looks superb Dave. I love trying to reproduce food I have eaten abroad. I might even be trying some Russian meat and potatoes and cabbage at home. It was usually pretty tasty although I couldn't really identify what gave the meat its flavour. I have a Russian cookery book so I may have to consult.

    1. Thanks Rachel. Rachel's Russian Recipes? That's got a ring to it. We have made Kartoshka with potatoes and we drank (ate) Borscht when we went to Poland. Please post your Russian Meat, potatoes and cabbages on your blog Rachel. I am sure a lot of readers would be interested in trying your recipes from Russia. I would.

    1. Hi LA. Yes you are exactly right with the vase and mince sauce. It's very cheap to make because you are using beef mince. Please have a go and let us know what you think of it?

  6. We're eating Italian since I decided to learn the language. Last night we made some slices of toast and then rubbed garlic on the and sprinkled extra virgin olive over them. With a glass of Campari and soda I think it was a nice bedtime snack. I slept well anyway. I like Bolognese, but only on pasta. I'm enjoying these dishes and looking forward to more of your ideas.

  7. Hi Gwil. Never been to Italy. It's on my "European Places To Visit" list. I think sprinkling virgin oil on pizza crusts is the correct way to eat them.

I bought two Portuguese picture books with words. Supposed to be really easy to learn the language. I go back and look at the pictures a few days later and I couldn't remember the words. Glad you are enjoying the dishes Gwil. Thanks!

  10. How Herbal Medicine Cured me completely. Does anyone still doubt natural herbs? I've seen the great importance of natural supplements and the wonderful work they have done in people's lives. I wonder why people still spend their money on surgery, injections and drugs each time they are sick. My Diabetes was totally cured with natural herbs. Earlier this year I was diagnosed type 2 diabetes and my blood sugar was very high, I was recommended to use insulin medication which later have side effect on my health, I decided to stop using insulin medication and was recommended to use Herbal medicine after I read series of testimony of doctor ELINFOH Herbal medicine on the internet, bloggers site and radio stations, I purchased Dr.ELINFOH  herbal medicine for diabetes which he sent to my address through a delivery company and I received the herbal medicine within a couple of weeks  and the doctor directed me how to use the herbal medicine for 21 days. After concluding the herbal medicine I decided to go for a blood test and my blood sugar was detected to be normal, Today I am diabetes free with no side effects. Contact Dr ELINFOH  via  email: drelinfohherbalhome@gmail.com  or Call/Whatsapp +2348110492072 for more information.
