Gone Away Toby Jug.

We went scouring the charity and antique shops and a car-boot sale at the weekend.  One needs to satisfy the inner Magpie and Womble instinct that we both share.

The wife spotted the Toby jug in a cabinet.  It's from the 1950's, Royal Doulton entitled 'Gone Away'and a limited edition.  I like how the fox cunningly resides  on the huntsman's shoulder.  My brother collects the jugs so we bought it and it now sits in the display cabinet with the rest of the jugs!

I bought 5 spider plants and four Aloe Vera house plants from the car boot sale.  I have now got 8 spider plants.  You know the gardeners mathematical equation don't you?  The only way to multiply is to divide!

  1. Mrs G divides spider plants with gusto! I have to move one to watch TV. There's even one in the bedroom!

  2. MRS G sounds like me Gwil. You can never have enough house or garden plants. Two of the spider plants have baby plants attached to them. Domino our smallholding cat is partial to eating the babies. He is also partial to the Catnip outside in the gardens. He gets high. I think he's a bit of an hippy cat. Thanks Gwil!

  3. You bought spider plants??? I have several, two of which share their space with our cat (or is it the other way round?). She's never tried to eat them. I trimmed them at the weekend - I could have sent you a dozen 'babies'!

  4. I know! I tried to give some of my perennial plants to a charity shop the other day and they said they couldn't accept because they are organic like food and they can't accept electrical goods either. So we told the lady to put the plants outside on a table. She said she would look into it and get back to me. I only wanted to raise some money for the homeless. The worlds gone mad. Thanks for your kind offer. If your ever in Ireland I will give you some of my perennials. Thanks for commenting the veg artist.

  6. Thanks Rachel. It's easy to find a present for somebody if you know they collect something. Glad you like it Rachel.
