I went on another of my walks yesterday. This was eight miles long and I passed two people walking a dog and one car.
New lambs were walking along the roads with their mothers and there was no wind and no rain. It's a good job I never took no notice of the weather forecast. They said there was a seventy percent chance of rain. I think they look out of the window in Dublin or London if you live in Blighty. Then they tell us the whole of the countries forecast.
Did you see Britain's one hundred best walks last week on the old John Logie Baird machine? It was great wasn't it?

Wonderful photo of an Irish car park, an environmentally friendly car park.
ReplyDeleteI'm taking it easy today. I like to recharge my batteries. Another trot in the woods tomorrow.
It would be better if we got rid of cars altogether Gwil. Or just electric powered vehicles with governor's of thirty miles an hour. I just walked four miles today. Thanks!
DeleteAnother long walk Dave. No I didn't see that programme of walks. It is bright and sunny here today with occasional snow flurries.
ReplyDeleteYes it was good and I took photos on top of the hills when I stopped for a drink of pop.
ReplyDeleteI am big fan of Julia Bradbury. Wish my wife would walk everywhere. Thanks!
We (UK) were promised snow today... the sun is beautiful, the sky is blue, but no snow. Perfect whether for walking, if only I could.
ReplyDeleteYes it's nice here in Ireland too Valerie. I walked ten miles today. Supposed to rain and snow tomorrow. I walk because I injured my back years ago and walking seems to take the pain away. Thanks.
ReplyDeleteI used to walk a lot when we lived in the UK, and enjoyed following the waymarking signposts with the help of the local Ordnance Survey map. Here in France they don't have footpaths which are signposted, although they do have wayfaring maps but they are nowhere near as good as the OS maps. The absence of cross country sign posts which took me through the heart of the English countryside was one of the things I missed when I came here. Walking along country lanes, although they are quiet, is not the same for me! But then we do have a farm around which we can walk, so that is sufficient for me now.
ReplyDeleteHi Vera. When I lived in England I use to see lots of people walking on their own or with their dogs. We get tourists walking the Sheep's Head Way in the Summer. I use to like walking canal tow paths and writing poems about sunken coal barges and Moorhens.
ReplyDeleteWhen we move to Portugal. I would like to walk on the beach or river beaches every week. Thanks!
