A Cornwall Painting Bought At A Carboot Sale.

Regular readers of this blog will know one of my hobbies is carboot sales.  Not so much selling more browsing and buying stuff:

" 0ne mans rubbish is another man's treasure!"

Any way I am a collector nay Womble.  If there is a carboot sale I have to have a look.


Here's  a Cornish scene I purchased from a carboot sale in Cheshire about twenty three years ago.  It's a picture of a pumping station.  Pumping out water from a tin mine:

I only paid five Pounds for the painting.  It's signed Collins.  I have found a Roland Collins who painted Cornish landscapes.  He always seemed to sign his pictures Roland Collins.  His paintings are worth three thousand Pounds.  There are lots of painters called Collins.

Not that I want to sell it.  I would just like to know the provenance of the painting.

Do you love carboot sales?  What's the best piece of treasure have you found?

    The best thing I found at a car boot sale was a car boot. I welded it on to my current automobile - Clint from South Korea. Like a wimp he complained about the burning feeling.

    Regarding Wombles, I think you are most like Orinoco: "Orinoco – a shirker who loves sleep and food and named after the mosquito infested river in South America. Though slothful by nature, Orinoco is capable of some surprising acts of moral and physical courage."

      That's one thing I have never seen for sale at a carboot sale is a carboot for sale.

      I have been a Womble for a very long time. Skips, carboot sales, junk shops, flea markets, charity shops, antique shops. I am always on the look out. You never stop collecting YP.

    I has suffered for Human papillomavirus HPV) for 2years, I was given some tablets at the hospital but I refused to take it, They said I have to be on it for life so I don't want take a drugs everyday for life.
