If we have a lot of meat left over from our Sunday dinner, I will often use it as filling for a Monday pie - also adding leftover gravy. I simmer it on the hob for an hour - perhaps with chopped onions and mushrooms before creating the pie. With the pastry, I usually cheat by using LIDL ready-made pastry.

ReplyDeleteWhen we lived in France my husband did crave pies of all sorts, but France does not do pies so he went without. Now we are back in England I have found a local butcher who makes divine pies of all sorts... so far have tried their pasties and sausage rolls, but they do quiches and pork pies as well. I never used to like pies, but these are scrumptious!
