Lighting The Range In July.

It's  turning into a strange but predictable Summer.  May and some of June was fabulous weather.  But since then it's  been very very mixed.  So mixed that we lit the solid fuel range today.  

We will be warm and we won't  need to turn on the Immersion Heater in the 'hot press' or 'Airing Cupboard'  for some hot water.  I wouldn't like to be holidaying in a tent at the moment, would you?

The range lit in July.

I saw a council workman sweeping leaves with a leaf blower this morning.  The leaves on the trees are turning yellow and the must think it's Autumn.

    Tremendous wind and rain here this morning, and husband said he could see lots of leaves coming down. How does Portugal cope in that sort of weather? Nice now though, and set good for the week.

    Hi the veg artist. I always think of people camping out and travelling by ferry when it's windy and raining. The council worker sweeping up leaves made me think of Autumn. At least we don't need to water our plants outside and only the polytunnel. It's survived some tremendous gales. I think it's the earth holding down the plastic and the windbreak fabric on the door and the doorframe on the back that keeps it in one piece, for now.

    It has been crazy weather here. Pouring down all morning and warm jumper weather. But now the sun is out and it is quite pleasant again. Summer is nearly over and it feels like it never actually arrived.

      Toying with lighting the log burner. Some of my trees here in Saddleworth are changing colour. A Rowen tree in the garden has lots of berries and also bunches of blossom on it. Certainly is a bit topsy turvy out there.

    To answer your question - No I would not have wanted to be camping in a tent today but tomorrow is going to be better and Friday is scheduled to be a hot, summery day. Our lawn is so green - a sign of plenty of wetness and not enough sunshine. If you and Wilma had put your thermal underwear on you wouldn't have needed to light your solid fuel range.

    Hi YP. Wednesday is supposed to be wet. My lawn is growing like mad. We have lit the stove to use up the coal in the bath so that I can have a bath and may be change my clothes. Great to see three Lancashire teams in next years Champions League. Villa escaped relegation.
