Health And Safety Comedy.

If you work in the construction industry in Ireland you have do a Safepass one day course and sit an exam which most people seem to pass.  I did mine in August and paid 150 Euros for the privilege.  That covers me for the next four years.   Hopefully the course helps prevent injuries.   There's also common sense which doesn't seem to be to talked about much these days.

I found this comedian sharing his thoughts on Health and Safety, common sense and banning smoking ....

Hope it made you smile.

  1. I have not seen Steve Hughes before. He was quite good. I like it when politicians go to factories or building sites and have to wear overalls, helmets and safety goggles. They look ridiculous.

  3. Winston Churchill hobbies were painting and bricklaying YP. He would have been good dressed in ppe wielding a trowel. I don't think he would be allowed to smoke his cigar though.

  4. 150 Euros? Golly, that's a bit steep!

  5. It is JayCee plus a day in Cork and paying for diesel and my dinner. Most employers pay for it. I wasn't working at the time so I had to pay it myself. It's compulsory to have a valid safepass ticket in the Irish construction industry. Manual Handling cert is also required and that lasts two years.

  6. The fact that common sense is no longer popular makes it difficult for me to find it funny. It is such that it shouldn't be funny, it should just be life as it is but it isn't anymore.

  7. Thank you. Winston Churchill used to do bricklaying late at night in order to unwind form the stress of the job he was in. It was something that he did alone often by moonlight like a form of meditation and if anything needed to be put right in the morning his staff did so without a word to Churchill.

  11. Thanks Tigger. It was YP mentioning politicians having to wear ppe when they visit construction sites and I remembered that Winston Churchill's hobby was brick laying.
