Some Amazing Garden Photographs From Japan.

My wife's sister told her that she was going to Japan with a pal of hers for a couple of weeks. When I found out I said: "Tell them to take pictures of  the amazing Japanese gardens for me and for my blog".

Here goes folks:

Aren't they absolutely beautiful.  The nearest thing I have ever been to Japan is when we use to visit Peasholm Park in Scarborough on our holidays.  We would spend many an afternoon and night there.

Would you believe the Sycamore is related to those beautiful Acer trees?

My dad use to grow Chrysanthemums in his green house, I love Rhododendrons and I know the Nolans were very big in Japan.    I would love to go there, would you?

Do you remember this song?

  3. I would love to visit Japan. I love the photos of the gardens. All quiet and peaceful. When I think of Japan I think of Toyko teaming with people or on the other hand, Mount Fuji or the Japanese flag. Thanks for reminding me of the song, fun from the 1980s. Great post for Saturday!

  4. I have only ever seen pictures of Japanese gardens but I was struck by the style and expertise. My parents once had a full colour book of pictures ... splendor personified!

  5. Hello Valerie. I think Japanese gardens are amazing and the Buddhist temple and its reflection in the water is stunning. Thanks for your comment.

  6. I would love to go back another time and be there on holiday not with the Mr's job. I loved how tidy everything was, so clean. People were so respectful, it was just lovely. We went to colleagues house, and I loved everything about their home. I learnt about the tatami mats and how they measure houses and that in the city they roll their mattress up and put them in special cupboards to use the rooms for something else in the day. I love everything that I learn. I hope to go to the Japanese garden here in cornwall when I get a chance at present we are just flat out with the house and dogs etc as I type the front garden is being ripped out and parking and a new garden is being put in. The back garden I need a professional to help me with. But yes I am very intrigued by Japanese style. There is a fusion called Japandi which is Japanese and Scandi style of house decor. It is very much how I like things. very simple nice and tidy and some elegant touches, just enough to make it a home and not a monks cell. :)

  7. You have been to Japan Sol? I would love to go there some time. Never heard of Japandi. Will look it up thanks! I would love a cabin/summer house to sit in, write and enjoy the garden even when its raining on days like this. At least we have the polytunnel. No snow down here in West Cork yet. Thanks Sol and please blog soon!

    1. Yes I have been twice. I am very lucky I have been to quite a few places with the Mr;s job. Norway many times, India, Japan, all whilst he went to work. In India his company paid for a lady chaperone and a guide. I would live in Norway and Japan quite happily. I love how Japan is futuristic, but with one leg and an eye on the past. The one draw back of both Norway and Japan, I found both to be super expensive.
