This red rose is a cutting I took last autumn. My brother bought the rose for my mother before she passed on. He was moving to another house and asked me to take a cutting because he could not take the climbing rose with him. I planted it this spring in one of our borders and its flowered. The vase is the one I paid a Euro for at the charity shop, Do you remember?

The hedgerows are full of some wonderful wild roses in bloom at the moment. Its a mizzle morning here in West Cork and the the flowers are loving the soft rain. Thanks!

ReplyDeleteHi Valerie. The rains removed a lot of the rose petals overnight. I hope they flower again. I won't plant anything in the garden unless it flowers. Wish I had planted a hedge like Rugosa instead of griselini.
