I keep saying I will take an online course in Herbalism. I have a couple of books on the subject and I have an head full of plants and their uses.
Monastery gardens fascinate me along with walled kitchen gardens like the one at Heligan in Cornwall. The Monastery gardens produced food to eat and also grew plants for their medicinal uses. I want to visit Kylemore gardens in Galway. But Ireland is shut at the moment. We can go 20 Kilometres from June the eighth. I think Ireland is much more sensible with the lockdown than the blonde buffoon at number ten.
Perhaps we should go back to using plants on our doorsteps instead of relying on tablets from the petrol chemical industries?
Do you have Foxgloves and other wild flowers in your garden?

Morning Valerie. It's amazing how many plants we have on our doorsteps that have so many uses. Even the humble Daisy can be made into an ointment. Hi JayCee. We once had a pure white foxglove but it never returned. There's some brilliant plant apps like plant finder that you can put on your mobile phone. We have one and it's only 20 Euros a year. It tells you all about the plant and its origin and it's uses. There's some good books too.

DeleteWe have foxgloves too, I brought the seeds with me when we moved here and they were from plants I'd grown from seeds collected over the years. The original ones were given to me about 12 years ago! We've also planted a wild flower patch, and today there is a poppy!
