The charity shops are open again in Hibernia (Ireland) and being collectors we couldn't wait to have a look for something new the other day.
Six Claddagh wine glasses for the princely sum of FIVE Euros!
Wifey spotted them and we christened them with a bottle of German white wine.
The next mission is to start going round the carboot sales at the weekend. One needs to satisfy their inner Magpie/Jackdaw.
Do you like browsing around charity shops and carboot sales?
Lovely glasses, but no, I'm not a browsing shopper at all. I only go shopping when I actually want something, often can't find the exact thing, and usually go home empty handed. Husband is a born shopper/browser, can't understand me, but I'm very cheap to keep!!
ReplyDeleteThanks the veg artist. I have always been a collector. I love visiting flea markets, charity shops and carboot sales. You find some great things like paintings, books, gardening tools and glasses...
DeleteOne of my very favorite things to do, Northsider. That little dress that matches the little kitty shoes for Iris? I paid 79 cents for it. I also bought her Christmas dress. It is burgundy velvet with an embroider tulle overlay on the skirt. 79 cents as well. WHen I find bargains like these, I come out of the store clutching my bags feeling as if "We are the Champions" should be playing in the background! Wonderful find! Glad that your carboot sales are opening up again. That's wonderfully cheering for you, I am sure.
ReplyDeleteHi Debby. I also got my Jannsen vaccine today so hopefully I can plan a sun holiday or maybe a rock festival? Hmm.?🤔
ReplyDeleteYes. I do like charity shops and what I call junk shops. You never know what you might find. Will you imminently be selling some of your plants at a car boot sale? I advise that you do not sell your actual car boot!
ReplyDeleteI've never seen a car boot for sale. Are they breaking the trades description act? I do intend to sell some of my perennials over the summer YP.
ReplyDeleteOur two local charity shops are currently full to bursting with loads of stuff we have just cleared out. I daren't buy anything else for a while.
ReplyDeleteAny good carbootsales or flea markets near you JayCee on the IOM?
DeleteNot close by but I think they have one or two around Douglas sometimes.
DeleteThey sound good. You can start collecting again for your new house/bungalow.
DeleteI like your work be glasses. I've broken most of ours but I suppose I'll have to resupply from the local supermarket. No charity shops here
ReplyDeleteAny carboot sales or flea markets on Poros Linda? If not you could start one. Thanks.
ReplyDeleteUsed to love a car boot sale, but these days if I ever go to one I never find that much, like someone has had everything I'm after.
ReplyDeleteThe earlier you get there the better Kev. I am sure you can sell your excellent wood work creations at markets. I love searching for stuff.
