Algarve Gardens, Flowers, Plants And Big Urns.

An apartment block walls softened with plants.  You can grow plants in a pot or in a big allotment or a paved back yard, anywhere even.
Growing at the side of a busy highway.
Ornamental grass growing through the stones/small bricks pavements.

Succulents seem to grow anywhere they choose.
Great big urns.  Would they have stored olives in them or maybe wine?

Two villas and their gardens.
I would love to go there for the Winter.  The rain and wind and orange warnings soon dampen the spirit.  Have you any plans to fly South soon?

  1. Welcome home. I hope you stored up enough vitamin D to get you through your winter. It is snowing here. I have no actual plans to jet off to warmer climes, but I do sometimes wistfully consider it.

  2. Thanks Debby. I was born in December but I hate Winter. It must be wonderful to have sunshine most of the time like the Algarve does.

  3. I am sitting here wearing two jumpers and thick socks, listening to the wind battering my garden and thinking that the Med would be a good place to be right now.

    1. It was heavy rain here last night and there is an orange warnings for later. The stove was lit last night and I had a couple of hot whiskys. It wad 28 degrees on Monday in the Algarve . They must save a fortune on heating bills in the Med.

  4. As Liz Truss said, "Growth! Growth! Growth!" Clearly they got that message in The Algarve. I have no plans to fly south. We will go to London by car or train. It works out quicker and cheaper.

  5. She's doing a good job YP. I bet she wishes she was still a Remainer and could live in the EU? London does get some very good weather unlike Ireland.

  6. It all reminds me of Greece and then it doesn't. So similar but little touches which make it Portugal. It sounds as though they have a warmer winter. It won't get really cold here till Xmas, maybe January but for us it's chilly right now at 22o. I was people watching today. Just observing. The Greeks in long sleeves and cardigans, the visitors in shorts and summer dress. Depends where you come from. We come from 40o

  7. Think I know what you mean Linda. It's like Spain but not. There's a big English and Moorish connection. I love Portugal and its people and especially the fabulous weather. The older Portuguese dress more like the Greeks with hats, cardigans and coats even now. The young women are gorgeous and classy like so many other European countries like the French and Italians. Isn't it great to people watch? Great observations LA.
