I found the following You Tube video yesterday featuring David Gilmour and his daughter Romany. I can't stop playing the track over and over again.
I have seen Roger Waters live performing the Wall. Snowy White was his guitarist who I saw way back in 1981 with Thin Lizzy on their Renegade tour. I wish I had seen Pink Floyd in their prime.
David Gilmour discovered Kate Bush and recorded her magical voice. All these years later I think he's found another Prog Rock star in his daughter. Superlative words like masterpiece and Magnum Opus (Kansas song title) come to my mind. I would love to see them at a festival like A New Day or Cropredy next year. Enjoy:
Did I see you playing your "air guitar" or was it the house brush🎸?
What have I said?
ReplyDeleteHaunting song and video. I saw Pink Floyd perform "Dark Side of the Moon" at Knebworth Park in 1975 and I briefly met Dave Gilmour on the island of Rhodes in 1978.
ReplyDeleteI love Pink Floyd. DG sold his posh house in London and donated the proceeds (3 million+( to the homeless charity: CRISIS. Roger Waters is the only Pink Floyd member I have seen live. They are both my prog heroes. I think the track today is beautiful. Thanks for your comment YP.
ReplyDeleteSorry Dave. Missed your post last night.
ReplyDeleteAm I forgiven?
There is nothing to forgive JayCee. I thought this post would get lots of comments. Bloggers don't seem to appreciate Prog music.
ReplyDeleteDark side of the moon is my favourite album of all time, I often play it, loved the video.
ReplyDeleteOur youngest bought us a new vinyl copy of Dark Side Of The Moon last year. I like Wish You Were Here the most.
