J found a tub of this soup in the "Specials" section in Lidl today. They must be just selling for the run up to Christmas.
It is one of those soups that you place in the machine that goes "ping" for two minutes.
It wasn't bad. I think I might have a go at making it from scratch some time.
Mulligatawny sounds like the name of a town in the West of Ireland.
Mulligatawny Soup could be the name of a prog rock group?
I have lit the stove and we have snow forecast for tonight and tomorrow.
I think I will make some of my homegrown and homemade leek and potato soup tomorrow. I could add some parsnip, onions and tomatoes? 🤔
Anyone else buying soup or even making it?
I have just made a pot of sweet potato, carrot and swede soup for our lunches over the next couple of "snow days". Not homegrown though, unfortunately.
ReplyDeleteCo-incidentally, Shirley and I also had Mulligatawny soup for lunch today. It was courtesy of Johnny Tesco who kindly put it in tins for us. Mulligatawny means "pepper water" but though it did have a little curry heat to it it was very mild.
ReplyDeleteJust the ticket for a few days of snow JayCee. We bought our first bag of smokeless fuel for the stove yesterday. 17 Euros for a 20 KG bag. It's like burning money!
ReplyDeleteWhat a coincidence YP. India gave us that soup along with Piccalilli and snooker and we gave them Cricket.
DeleteWe like homemade soup and this is just the weather for it.
ReplyDeleteNo snow or rain here for the last few days but we had meat soup. With mutton bones, potato, celery, carrots and lots of lemon juice and olive oil.
ReplyDeleteDefinitely Jabblog and our stove in the front room is lit.
ReplyDeleteYour soup sounds perfect for winter Linda.
