We all know the classic rock song: 'Ruby Tuesday' by English rockers: 'The Rolling Stones.
Apparently Keith Richards composed it when his girlfriend left him and went off with Jimi Hendrix. Like you do!
Mr Richard's resides or owns a house in West Wittering in Sussex where Kate Winslet and Rodney Trotter also reside. Regular readers will recall I visited there on my travels around southern England last August.
' I think 'Ruby Tuesday' or " Ruby Tuesdays' would be a good name for a live music 🎶 venue or even a clothes boutique.
Any road or any way here's 3 versions of the song. Please tell me which one you like the most:
Irish band: 'The Corrs' version.
The Scorpions version. You have seen them haven't you Dave? Yeah I saw them at Birmingham NEC many moons ago. I have also seen former band members Ulri Jon Roth and Michael Schenker in their own bands.
What's your favourite version of 'Ruby Tuesday' folks? I will tell you mine after you have told me yours.
Ah well, sorry I can't comment on the sounds (for obvious reasons) but the Corrs are very pretty!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful Colleens from Dundalk JayCee. I might go and see them in the summer in Cork. Although I spent many a childhood holiday in Scarborough. I loved the place. Have you been there?
DeleteSadly no. You must post some blog photos for me Dave.
DeleteWould need to take my Lancashire passport JayCee? The natives are quite friendly in Scarborough. I saw The Grumbleweeds and The Nolans and I once spoke to Sir Sir Geoffrey Boycott there.
DeleteAs a Stones fan, it still has to be their version
ReplyDeleteI dunno Marlene. Have you heard Hackney Diamonds? It's the best thing I have heard from them for years. Apparently Hackney Diamonds refers to a stone damaged car windscreen in Hackney. Ronnie Wood plays on The Corrs video. I love The Scorpions. Germans really like Heavy Rock music. I think all 3 versions are very good. It's hard to pick a winner. I'd probably say: Number 3. The Rolling Stones. Number 2: The Scorpions and number one: The Corrs with Ronnie Wood.
ReplyDeleteMy favourite version of the song was by Melanie Safka who sadly died last year at the relatively tender age of 76. I saw her in 1970 and if she had asked me for a date I would have happily obliged. She really belted that song out.
ReplyDeleteI just played it on You Tube YP. It is a very good cover version of the Rolling Stones song. Thanks!
ReplyDeleteI prefer the original. The Rolling Stones with their big voices
ReplyDeleteThey are all good versions Linda. Thanks.
ReplyDeleteMy favourite is Melanie. But I love all versions and it is one of my favourite songs of all time. There is a hairdressers in Norwich called Ruby Tuesday. Great to hear the different versions. Thanks Dave.
ReplyDeleteI can't remembering the Melanie cover before today Rachel. It's odd when a song or singer can pass you by. The hairdressers name is very memorable isn't it? I think the Corrs version with Ronnie Wood is excellent.
ReplyDeleteHere, Ruby Tuesday is a restaurant chain!
ReplyDeleteWell I never. I didn't know that Debby. Apparently it's a franchise. Did you see the film on Netflix about McDonald's? I can't remember the film title. Unbelievable marketing strategy.
ReplyDeleteI love them all. Best lead vocal is in the Corrs but I'm a bit of dyed in the wool Stones fan.
ReplyDeleteThe Corrs lead singer adds eye candy to the song TM. I would love to see The Rolling Stones or The Corrs live. At least I got to see The Scorpions live.
