Keeping with my Irish theme and a repost. I first showed this in 2016.
The late great Keith Floyd once owned a restaurant in Kinsale here in County Cork.
I would loved to have dined there and perhaps met him.
He's been described to be Dr Who in a cooking programme. I think it's a very good description.
I found the following tv gem on good old You Tube.
J often makes us Irish potato cakes filled with bacon and served with Heinz baked beans. They are very filling and you will find them on my blog search. You will also see the beaked beans sign in the Algarve.
Enjoy the video.
The great Keith Floyd and very much missed.
We used to watch him on TV. Great fun, especially when he had a glass or two of wine.
ReplyDeleteI wish they would repeat all his series JayCee.
DeleteOh, I love beaked beans with crunchy dead chicken beaks in the sauce! I once saw Keith Floyd's restaurant/pub "The Maltsters Arms" near Dartmouth, Devon but didn't go inside. We were in a boat on The River Dart.
ReplyDeleteHe was a loveable character and made it feel like he was talking to just you.
DeleteHe had fun in the kitchen and enjoyed his food. Kind of like the opposite of Heston Blumenthal.
DeleteQuite. He is greatly missed .
DeleteI use to love the way Keith cooked - a handful of this, a splash of that (pause to take a drink of red wine) add something else and cook until it is done. None of this add exactly 375g of some ingredient your supermarket won't even have heard of, let alone keep in stock!
ReplyDeleteExactly Tracy. He was spontaneous and original.
DeleteI am writing this without being able to see any comments you may have received however I am sure there will be one who didn't like him. I, on the other hand, was a great fan of Floyd and I enjoyed what I saw of him and I have Floyd on France which is one of my favourite cookery books which I read for fun rather than wanting to actually cook anything. He died way too early.
ReplyDeleteI loved Keith Floyd. I think I saw this video before and it inspired me to make potato cakes. He's lots of fun. Lucky we can still see him on YouTube.
ReplyDeleteI don't eat potatoes anymore but this is very tempting.
Happy St Patrick's day.
I echo your KF sentiments Rachel He even liked The Stranglers. One of my favourite bands. Thanks Rachel.
ReplyDeleteYes I have shown the video before Linda. Have a great Saint Patrick's weekend.
ReplyDeleteI enjoyed this! Keith Floyd. Does he have a sister, Pink?
ReplyDelete😄. Very good Debby. The bass player is called Roger 🍷Wines. 👍
