The seasons are really mixed up these days. We've got Azalea's flowering at the beginning of March:
I noticed this fine specimen flowering in my vegetables plot/nursery. So I thought I would give it to the wife. She likes pretty flowers. Then we decided to let it come into the dwelling and have a warm in the front room with the seed potatoes and sprouting vegetable seeds.
Azalea seems very happy and I think it's better than her getting cold and losing it's flowers because the seasons have gone bonkers.
Any one else got Azalea's flowering in March?
Nope! No azaleas here. Very romantic and generous of you to give that lovely flowering plant to Mrs Northsider. She is probably thinking, "What is Dave after now?"
ReplyDeleteNo sign of flowers yet on ours, Dave.
ReplyDeleteWe only have our first daffs in bud at the moment. At least we have sun forecast up until the weekend.
It's cheaper than buying flowers for Mother's Day YP.😊
ReplyDeleteYour flowers will soon be in bloom JayCee. I've never known Azalea's in flower in March. It's normally around April or May.
ReplyDeleteMake all your sunny holiday dreams come true on The Costa del Sheep Shed... Plenty of vacancies at The Northsider Hotel. Bathing costumes optional.
DeleteHa,ha.😊 It's a three star hotel. Well you can see three stars. Must get those slates fixed.
ReplyDeleteFor an authentic, traditional Irish getaway in a rustic retreat, it must be the homely three star Northsider. Once a secret training venue for the Irish Republican Army, the quaint hotel with its immaculate gardens was recently visited by TV legend Pamela Anderson who said, "I received special personal services from the hotel manager every night I was there."
DeleteShe also said: "It was grand and a top of the morning to ye all. Everything was perfect until the manager donned his red mankini and said: "Let's go down to the beach and pretend it's Baywatch."
ReplyDeleteNow I shall have nightmares......
DeleteYou can join the writing team to write Baywatch Visits The Irish Riviera 🐑? What do you think JayCee?😊
ReplyDeleteEpisode 14
DeleteIn which a mature couple from The Isle of Man tootle onto The Sheep Shed Peninsula in their Morris 1000. They stop to look at the map.
PEREGRINE Where the hell are we JayCee?
JAYCEE I told you to turn right at the crossroads.
(Just then the Manager of the Nortshider Hotel appears on his pink 1968 Lambretta)
NORTHSIDER Top of the morning to ye'! Have ye chitted yer potatoes yet?
JAYCEE What? No! Tell me fine sir - Is this the way to Amarillo?
"No. But if you know what nowt and summat means. You're in the right place." " Have you brought any bottles of Newcastle Brown with ye?"
ReplyDeleteWho needs The Archers when you've got the Northsiders?😀
Won't be long until spring now Dave! Day length is getting longer at a rapid rate.
ReplyDeleteHi Kev. Yes the days are stretching nicely. The dry weather this week is very welcome and I have made a lot of progress in the veg plots and polytunnel. The herbaceous borders need a lot of work though. Thanks.
