Guinness Coasters From Lidl.

I received another gift from my wife's shopping adventures in Lidl the other day:

Aren't  they great?  I remember when you would peel off the  front off a beer mat and use it to write on the now blank card?  Beer mats are also great for putting under a wobbly chair or table.

I haven't been in a pub since August 2019.  I would love to see beer mats being used again.

  1. We used to play at flipping them in stacks too - the idea was to flip and catch in one movement without dropping any. And I remember building pyramids from them too.

  2. Great pub memories the bike shed. I remember people throwing them at unsuspecting day dreamers heads.

  4. I am JayCee. She went for compost today and they had sold it all. Perhaps I am not the only compost collector? 😆

  5. Lovely beer mats. I'm amazed once again by the things you find in lidls over there. We don't find such interesting buys and no compost either

  6. Thanks Linda. They are different and I like them very much. Lidl gets better every year. Wish they sold Newcastle Brown and other UK beers.

  8. Thanks Debby. I wouldn't mind seeing a great band like Kansas again.

  9. Circular beermats make excellent mini-frisbees that you can chuck across the barroom before being chucked out or barred yourself..."Sozzy ahm pished!"

  10. The good old days YP. There was no need for Karaoke machines, jukeboxes or Sky News. Revellers could make their own bar room entertainment with a few beer mats.

    1. I used to like a good old-fashioned fist fight at the end of the night. Nowt better than the crunch of a nose.

  11. Going for a trip in a supermarket trolley was another hobby when the pubs closed.

  12. Those posh people statues look good in football shirts too. Hope Pri Patel doesn't read our comments.😊
