Another Trip To The Carboot Sale.

A lovely jug featuring Welsh ladies in their national costumes.  They originate from the
Dragon Pottery in Rhayader in Wales.  I think the Veg Artist would like this?  Three Euros.

Price Kensington  Apple Sauce face pot.  From the 1950s for 8 Euros.   They also made  the Cottage teapots the wife collects.

Two bird and nests cushions for one Euros each..

I also picked up 6 CD  albums for 30 Cents each.  Not a bad mornings shopping.

  7. Dave, I don't have a 'Welsh' thing in my house!! Very young children dress up in costume on St Davids Day, but I only remember wearing a daffodil on St David's Day.
Around here, the hats live on in the stories of the 'invasion' of Fishguard, when in 1797 the French (who had been aiming for Bristol
) looked up from the sea and saw huge 'men' on the cliffs. A local woman, Jemima Nicholas, helped with the capture of the French troops who surrendered two days later. She is still commemorated in Fishguard, and there is an Invasion Tapestry stitched by local people.
There's a good summary and some photos of the tapestry here:

  8. Over at shadows and light, Steve had his apple sauce face pot. I truly had never seen one before catching sight of yours, and spent a while reading about them. To have another one pop up on the same day really was an interesting coincidence.

  9. Six CD's? Let me guess - Bucks Fizz, The Bay City Rollers, Jim Reeves, Gary Glitter, Des O'Connor and Mr Blobby.

  14. Hi Linda. We saw a plane taking off into the sky the other night and then we saw the mince pies and the carboot sale. It really seems like things are getting back to normal. Hope so anyway.
