Mince Pies In September?

Yep.  We happened to be in Iceland  looking for Blighty culinary delights like Vimto and Hollands pies (Lancashire delicacies) and doner kebabs and stuff for my nosebag: dinner on the island across the bay.

We noticed mince pies and:

Yes less than fourteen weeks before Christmas Day.

It seems to get earlier every year doesn't it just?

  2. You can remind me all you like but I am NOT sending you a Christmas present this year. If I were to buy you a Christmas present it would be either a string vest, union jack braces or a flat cap or all three.

  5. Why does it anger me this business of starting Christmas early?
I remember when things go hotted up one week before Christmas and it was exciting. I guess its all to do with the money but my opinion is that it spoils it.

  6. Good points Briony. I wish there were things to do at Christmas like aeeing a band. Most entertainers seem to want time off at Christmas. It's very over hyped and the magic is only there for the little ones.

  7. Christmas thoughts don't start in this house until my after my birthday in October. I've still to come up with a present I want for that!

  10. Well, they’re telling us in the US that there will be shortages at Christmas and to buy your Christmas items now...fancy a 14 week old mince pie by then?

  11. Maybe Katie. Food and beer items from Blighty are becoming very hard to source now Brexit is kicking in.

  12. Hi Lynda. Perhaps we should all start stocking up while mince pies last? I bet they wouldn't last until Christmas.
