A Birthday Cake For A Canine Pal.

It was someone second birthday the other day.  It's a week after mine.

I remembered watching Blue Peter many moons ago and they made a dog food cake for the TV celebrity dogs and cats.

So I consulted good old Google and sure enough I found the recipe:

A tin of dog  food.  Some powdered  gelatine mixed with hot water.  Mix it in with the dog food and leave it to set.  Then make butter cream and add vanilla essence and spread it over the cake and leave it to set.

I reckon we should sell them to pet shops.  Dog food cakes a speciality.  This time next year we'll be Millionaires!

  1. What a lucky dog he is. His cake looks great and I am sure he soon demolished it. At first I thought the post was about your birthday having remembered that you are a Sagittarian. I hope you had a cake too.

  2. Did you ever hear the song "Rosie" by one man band - Don Partridge? I think your Rosie might have liked to hear it while bolting down her birthday cake.

    1. Great track YP. What about "Whole Lotta Rosie" by ACDC? I will play it for her. You could be a disc jockey for pets birthday parties and we could provide the catering,

  4. She demolished the cake Rachel and shared it with two other canine friends. No cake for me but a pair of cords, a pair of steel toe capped work boots, a set of hiking waterproofs and a bottle of Glenmorangie Scottish Malt. So I did very well.

  6. You will have to have an house warming party JayCee and dictate that everyone brings a bottle of your favourite tipple. Only settle for fine wines and Malt whisky.
