When I was in Kerry the other day. I noticed a pink Convolvolus, Bindweed or Granny Pop Out Of Bed. It was growing through a laurel hedge.
Normally the ones I see growing are white with their trumpet flowers.
Who would think a weed (wild flower) could look so beautiful? Well it's related to the garden cultivar "Morning Glory or Ipoemia.
Have you see any interesting weeds/wild flowers lately?
I'm sure we have that growing here on fences and along the side of the road. It's a winter flower here. Very pretty
ReplyDeleteWinter flower? It is very pretty Linda. Mother Nature gives us plants for free.
ReplyDeleteI think it's very cruel to pop your granny out of her bed. Pretty flower though. It grows everywhere here too.
ReplyDeleteTrue. It's a better name for a flower than the Glaswegian song: " You canny throw your Granny off the bus". Do you have the pink ones?
ReplyDeleteOurs are mostly the white ones. I shall look out for the pink ones.
DeleteI had only ever seen the white ones until I moved over here JayCee.
ReplyDeleteI've seen pink ones before....and they are the smaller ones as well are they not? I think I saw them in North Wales...I'll have to keep a note, now!!
ReplyDeleteIt isn't just wild flowers that can be weeds!!
These weren't smaller GZ. Thanks.
ReplyDeleteI sometimes see pink bindweed flowers here in Yorkshire and occasionally pink with white ones. I saw some great dandelions earlier on today.
ReplyDeleteYes I have seen the pink and white Convolvolus YP.
