Sausages Sizzling On A Barbecue in APRIL!

Two posts in a day!

The weather is exceptionally good this week down on the Irish Riviera.

So good in fact that we decided to have a barbecue yesterday evening:

Not the most aesthetically pleasing photo but definitely sausages cooking on our barbecue.

J bought some kebabs on wooden skewers from the butchers.  They weren't spicy enough for me.  J says I am made of asbestos.  They don't do hot and spicy in West Cork.

Have you had a barbecue yet or perhaps you made some Sangria?

Enjoy the sunshine while you can.  This could be our Summer!

I have just looked at the weather forecast and the mizzle starts on Saturday.  Probably best to have a barbecue before then.

  1. We no longer own a barbecue, our weather has always been too grotty to bother! Hope you enjoyed your sizzling bangers.

  2. You can always have an indoor barbecue JayCee and cook your kebabs in the Aga or Rayburn? We half cheated and cooked some of them in the kitchen. Thanks.

  3. Your BBQ looks like mine Dave, and the sausages are great. I like doing chicken as well, in fact any meat or fish. I like the BBQ taste of food cooked over a fire. I note what JayCee said about being cold, I often BBQ outside and then eat the food indoors. As long as it isn't raining I will cook outside.

  4. This is not the first time you have referred to your wife as "J". I wonder what it stands for. Ideas that come to mind include Juniper, Jordan and Jolene:-
    Your beauty is beyond compare
With flaming locks of auburn hair
With ivory skin and eyes of emerald green
Your smile is like a breath of spring
Your voice is soft like summer rain
And I cannot compete with you
    Jolene

    1. Jordan would be a good name YP. My wife is called Jean. The Irish say with a G or a J? Jolene could be a poem. It's excellent.

    2. I like the name Jean and wish that it would become a little more fashionable again for baby girls. Please say hello to Jean from me.

  5. I read someone's 'funny'. It said, "I hope summer comes on a weekend this year." It snowed yesterday. Today it got back up to 47 (8 degrees in your world. But the geese have goslings and it is fun to watch them on the river.

I cannot wait to have a barbecue.

    1. We get every season in a hour sometimes Debby. You could always have an indoor barbecue and cook it on the stove/range?

  6. I haven't been able to comment on yours or JCs blog for days. Someone doesn't like me or my innocuous comments. Maybe this will get through. I really would like to try one of those bbqed sausages. I would enjoy it more than all the offal we have been eating recently.
Hope the good weather keeps up
