A China Cabinet Full Of Animals....

Yorkshire  Pudding has posted a great blog about Galloways.    So I thought  I would show you our "jumper" cows.

My late dad was a Womble like we are and he spent every Sunday morning in summer collecting.   I think that's why we like going round carboot sales and charity shops.

When my dad passed away after my mam.  We ended up with his collection of pot animals and the China cabinet.  I have added to the collection since, of course.

See the Galloways on the the left side of the top shelf?

Sentimental items that we will always keep.  What sentimental items do you treasure?

  1. I can see your Belted Galloways. They are smaller than the ones I saw yesterday. I have got too many keepsakes including a silver plated cigarette box that was given to my mother by her colleagues on the occasion of her marriage in Delhi, India in December 1945.

    1. Omg I Finally Got Helped  !! I'm so excited right now, I just have to share my testimony on this Forum.. The feeling of being loved takes away so much burden from our shoulders. I had all this but I made a big mistake when I cheated on my wife with another woman  and my wife left me for over 4 months after she found out..  I was lonely, sad and devastated. Luckily I was directed to a very powerful spell caster Dr Emu who helped me cast a spell of reconciliation on our Relationship and he brought back my wife and now she loves me far more than ever.. I'm so happy with life now. Thank you so much Dr Emu, kindly Contact  Dr Emu Today and get any kind of help you want.. Via Email emutemple@gmail.com or Call/WhatsApp +2347012841542

  2. Hi YP. I remember seeing some Galloways near Castleton in Derbyshire years ago and we saw some near Inch beach this year. Your mother's silver plated cigarette box and her Delhi wedding sound a good blog topic?

  4. You've some nice items, I feel you can't appreciate them, when they are so close together. I'm going through a decluttering spree, the thought of having to pack tons of stuff when we move in a couple of years panics me. I do have a bear I was given when 10 days old, he stays with me wherever I go.

  5. Thanks Diane. I have Royal wedding cup of my mums in a cardboard box. I only keep them because my mother liked them. I like collecting and find it difficult to declutter. The bear sounds like a real family heirloom to pass down.

  6. Galloways are cows? I've never heard of them before. I just googled them to make sure I wasn't asking a silly question. I like cows, as long as they're behind a fence.
No collections here, just general 'treasures'. Anything useful which no-one else wants.
    I like yours

  7. Yes they are a rare breed of cattle Linda. They grow thick coats in winter and need no housing like other cattle. I am glad you liked our 'treasures'.

  8. Most of my "treasures" have just gone to the charity shop!

  9. You will have to start collecting again when you move. A new settee perhaps? Or that summer house YP suggested?

  10. Furniture. Clocks. Books. Things of my children. Christmas ornaments. My mother's cake and bread pans. Pen and ink drawings of mansions. Some people are collectors. I have never understood collecting.

  11. Hi Debby. One thing I have really missed this year is car boot sales. I love finding bargains and things I like. I prefer to have an eclectic approach rather than a minimalist one. Don't think I will stop collecting.

    1. Hopefully you caught the joke. I accumulate large quantities of stuff while trying to claim that 'things' are not important. I'm a a complicated person, I guess.

  12. I've a side table that my great great grandfather made, held all with pegs and glue. At some point my mum painted it pickled pink, and it took me hours and hours to get it off. Now it is my husband's bedside table, and give it a little pat each time a walk out of our bedroom in the morning
