Fool In The Rain.

I went for my second six miles walk yesterday in the mizzle and rain:

I put on my "Rainy Day" suit(waterproofs), my twenty five Pounds hiking boots and made sure I took my trusty hiking stick.  I was surprised again how warm it was and apart from my hands and face I didn't get wet.

That's 12 miles so far this week and I will do another six miles or so before the week is out.  Life is so mind bending boring at the moment.    I am so grateful to get outside and go for a walk for a couple of hours.

  1. I am too much of a wimp to go out walking in this weather. Your waterproofs certainly live up to their name.

  5. It allows us to travel virtually while being stuck at home. Arg. Just the idea of being able to go walking. Today it was 17 degrees. (-8 for you). Tomorrow is supposed to be colder. I spent the day separating receipts for taxes. Talk about mind numbing...

  6. Yes Debby blogland takes us everywhere. 17 degrees sounds unbelievably cold. I think I would putting those receipts in the stove to keep warm. 😀

  7. It was chock full of firewood which burns longer. If I had thrown the receipts in there, my normally natured husband would have gotten pretty fired up.

  9. You did well, Dave. I did one kilometre and the sun was shining. I like the idea of a hiking stick. I was thinking of getting those nordic stick but I think I need something simpler.
Did you buy yours or did the universe supply?

  10. Thanks Linda. That's the best way building up your walking gradually. Amazon have some good walking sticks. I use mine for climbing up hills and it's stopped me several times from falls and slipping. The sun is shining today. I have been out in the garden planting one of my homegrown hedges this morning. Thanks.

  11. You're very welcome LA. I saw a really nice telescopic hiking stick for 16.95 Pounds or was it Euros? I am sure you could make your own walkers stick. Perhaps there is an hikers shop on Poros?

  12. No such shop here but we have to take trip to a nearby city next week so I'll have a look there, if they're open. Lidls will be open for sure! Shopping therapy.
