If You Want To Make God Laugh. Tell Him Your Concert Plans.

 To misquote Woody Allen.

Flipping heck! We purchased tickets over two years ago to see Paul Heaton and Jacqui Abbott in Killarney.  Then along came Covid and all the restrictions like the 5kms rule and the guards stopped your car and asked you "why you are going shopping...?"

The concerts been rescheduled and cancelled many times since.  Then the other day we got an email saying the concert is now going to be held in DUBLIN in June at St Anne's Park and Deacon Blue are supporting them.  Don't get me wrong.  Deacon Blue are a great band and 'Dignity' is an absolute belter of a song.  But I don't think I will be going all the way to Dublin and paying to stay in a hotel.  So it looks like we will have to get our money back, sadly.

Any road or anyway.  I noticed Clannad (I have seen them 3 times) are playing some Irish venues this week on their last ever world tour.  So after much persuasion I persuaded the missus to go to see them.  So we purchased tickets and I played You Tube videos of Clannad last night to get us both excited about the concert.

Now to put the tin hat on it.  I got an email this morning to say some of the band and road crew have tested positive for Covid and they have had to cancel the tour and hopefully reschedule the tour.  Flipping heck again.

Some things are not meant to be!

  2. Yep. Covid is like some singer you don't like. It's doing a comeback tour.

  3. Maybe you should go up to Dublin in June. Make it a long weekend. Don't worry about the hotel or B&B bill as I am sure that JayCee and Peregrine will cover that for you. You only have to ask.

  4. I dunno YP. I would like to visit certain places like Guinness and Phil Lynott's grave. But I think we might get a refund and wait for a Rock gig near us. Not that you get many Heavy/Prog Rock bands down here.

JayCee and Peregrine could park their camper on the drive if they came here. But they can't use our bath it's still full of cold and I used the bathroom door for firewood last week.😀

  8. I hope you get to see Clannad. We saw them in 1982 at the National Concert Hall in Dublin, which had only just been opened, and it was a spectacular event.

  9. Hi Sabine. They are a great band from Gweedore in Donegal. I have seen them 3 times at Manchester Apollo. I will be hopefully seeing them at a music festival in August in England. Super Irish band like my other favourite band Thin Lizzy from these shores. Thanks.

  10. Deacon Blue - that brings back memories from the 80s.
I'd love to have seen them at their height - and Prefab Sprout (especially), and Aztec camera and Big Country.

  11. Hi Mark. I have gone from being mad on The Stranglers and then Thin Lizzy and Kansas and I even bought a ticket to see Whitney Houston and I like brass bands. Good job I am not a DJ.😀 Big Country and Deacon Blue were brilliant.

Tight Wad Christmas Tree.

No not the name of a Prog rock band, although  it could be🤔? More like a bit of fun on my part. Someone in the Northsider Towers household...
