Back To The Carboot Sale Yet Again.

We saw a car boot sale advertised online and decided to go and have a browse and of course we came back with more treasure.  I should have gone selling plants but there's not a lot in flower at the moment.

Here are some of the things we purchased:

Remember in 2020 when I bought 'Landfall, Slea Head, Co Kerry by John Skelton? Well I  bought 4 more of his prints which include the 'Landfall' (bottom left).   Please click on the picture to see all the Kerry scenes.

A carved man carrying what looks like a stone head.  It looks Maori but I have Christened him Sisyphus.  Next to him are two Oriental resin figurines.  They have what looks like Chinese writing underneath them.  I love Japanese tea gardens and it's nice to have figurines made out of resin not ivory.

It was a good morning and we will need one of those Barbapapa cartoon houses soon that always bulged at the seams.

Apologies for the concrete floor in the background.  The home improvements are still in development.  I said everything would be right and back to normal for Christmas, 2022.😊

  1. Hadn't noticed the concrete floor - the texture suggested carpet, but now that you mention it.... Sisyphus might be from Polynesia but he isn't a traditional Maori design of Aotearoa. Is he wood or stone?

  2. The concrete floor is good for claws Tigger. It's an hardwood sculpture. Polynesia sounds very likely. He's definitely not Greek like my old mate Sisyphus. Hope he does have a complex.😊 Thanks for the feline advice.

  3. My home is full of car boot stuff, I can literally go around the rooms point it all out. You are rubbing salt into the wounds for me as I can't walk around them anymore, used to often do 2 or 3 in one day. Those were the days, lol

  4. I thought they just sold boots at car boot sales. Mind you I thought the same about that high street chain - "Boots". Not one bloody pair of boots to be seen in there.

  5. Hi Briony. Good on you for sourcing out a bargain or twenty. I hope you can work out away to get to some car boot sales. The Covid restrictions took away two years of our lives. I love finding new treasure. I would like to invent (get paid for) a tv programme like Bargain Hunt and the car boot buyers have to furnish a flat or house totally for under a thousand. I reckon you and me could definitely do it.

  6. Good point YP. I went into a chemist's and asked if they sold potties? The lady behind the counter said: "Have you tried Boots?" I said I have but it runs out of the lace holes".
    I'm here all week!😊

  7. I went in Selfridge's and asked if they sold fridges. Don't encourage me.

  11. Hi Mark. I was saying to a lady selling that I could never be a professional seller. Like my music taste my purchases are very eclectic and I only buy what I like or think some one I know would like. It's like buying clothes for someone. I am often wrong with my purchases.🤔
