Two very old porcelain figurines. 8 Euros.
A bronze squirrel doorstop. Three Euros.
It was a good day and I bought a George Best Book for a Euro and a Rock music book about Cork musicians and the wife bought her self a woollen poncho for when we go out at night when we visit the Algarve again later this year.
My Gran had a mixing bowl just like that.
ReplyDeleteDidn't know they still make those.
It's very rare we see them JayCee. I hope my wife bakes me some scones this week. Perhaps she will read this?😊
ReplyDeleteCork musicians? I never knew that you could make music with corks. It must be percussion. Oh, and I love the little Bantry jug. We have a mixing bowl just like the one you bought.
ReplyDeleteThe Bantry Jug. It could be the name of an oil tanker or a pub.
DeleteI liked yesterday's painting Dave and today's post with the rest of the finds, particularly the jug. I used to collect things like this. I still have a few bits and pieces. Thank you for sharing on your blog.
ReplyDeleteThanks Rachel. I think the jug just resonated with me. Some things just grab you and you want them. My friend Rachel.
DeleteIs that one of those mixing bowls with a flat side (allegedly for tipping to knead bread dough)? Today we like your door stop; it looks like a resl toe-stubber.
ReplyDeleteNo it doesn't have a flat side Tigger. Glad you like the squirrel doorstop.
DeleteI do like that jug and the mixing bowl is just the sort of thing I would buy. Makes cooking and baking so much more enjoyable when you are using something aesthetically pleasing. And everything a terrific bargain. Well done
ReplyDeleteThanks Linda. It's a relatively cheap collecting hobby.
DeleteI love the jug!
ReplyDeleteGlad you like the jug Sol.
ReplyDeleteThat mixing bowl is wonderful and just exactly the thing that would catch my eye. I'd like to see the squirrel door stop from the side view. (I'm such a nosy nelly!)
ReplyDeleteHi Debby. Glad you like the mixing bowl and the squirrel doorstop.
