Santa Claus, A Rush Guitarist And A Bit Of Black Sabbath.

Instead of a Christmas card blog post this year.  I am going to gladden your hearts with a festive tune.

Canadian Rockers The Bare Naked Ladies recently team up with for Rush lead guitarist and added a bit of Black Sabbath to a famous festive song:

If you are Prog Rock fan like me you will like the video.  I would love to have seen Rush back in their 2112 days playing this Toronto theatre.  Fortunately I did see them a couple of times in dear old Blighty.

Who would you love to see play live? I would love to see Styx.

  1. I always wished I could have seen Queen play live. With Freddie Mercury, of course.

  2. Yes Jules. I especially like their seventies records. I waited over thirty years to see Kansas but I finally managed to see them in 2014. Thanks.

  5. I would love to see you and JayCee live performing "Little Donkey". You would both be dressed in thick seafaring sweaters and you'll be strumming an acoustic guitar while JayCee taps a gipsy tambourine on her thigh. I can see it now:-
    Little donkey, little donkey
    On the dusty road
    Gotta keep on plodding onward
    With your precious load

    1. They probably sang that at yesterdays Christmas do YP. Karaoke is big in the IOM along with Watneys Party 7 Ale, Special Brew and Thunderbird. I bet they are nursing mighty hang overs today?

    2. A report from Mr Snoopy claims they were playing strip poker and JayCee climbed on the table to do her Tina Turner impression while "Simply the Best" blasted out over the speakers.

    3. They were preparing for their trip to Benidorm at Christmas. I hope bring back a straw donkey and a sombrero for us all.

Oh this year I'm off to Sunny Spain y viva España
I'm taking the Costa Brava plane y viva España
If you'd like to chat a matador, in some cool cabaña
And meet señoritas by the score, España por favor!

    5. "Eviva Espana". Apparently it's a Belgian song and the word Eviva doesn't exist in Spanish YP. I am sure JayCee knows.

    6. Maybe Aviva Espana deals with their Spanish business. I know which song I would use for their advertising jingle.

  7. Good singers and song writers. If Black Sabbath ever play their last gig at Villa Park I would be tempted to get a couple of tickets Marlene. I love their early stuff and with Ronnie James Dio. Who I have seen. But I have never seen the original Sabbath line up.
