No not the name of a Prog rock band, although it could be🤔?
More like a bit of fun on my part.Someone in the Northsider Towers household said that we have not purchased a Christmas tree this year. So on Christmas Eve night I ventured out to my plant nursery in the pitch dark.
I came back with a Hebe shrub that I had grown from a cutting a few years ago and decorated it with a couple of baubles with dog pictures on them.
Our cats and dogs seem impressed with my pets Christmas tree.
After all. It's the thought that counts:
According to the weather people Ireland had the warmest Christmas ever this year. Next year we will swap rain bathing for sun bathing and we will all have a barbecue in the garden.
Better still we will go somewhere else next Christmas. Shearings are advertising Tinsel and Turkey holidays in Llandudno?
It's got to be better than not seeing any body in the countryside next to the sea.
At least its not blowing a gale and throwing it down.
Yours sincerely: Ebeneezer Northsider.
I didn't speak to or see anybody yesterday Dave, apart from via the blog. Thanks for your visit. Have a lovely day. It is warm here too which is great, not so much wood used on the fire, so it will last longer.
ReplyDeleteAvoid The Grand in Llandudno, we stayed there a few years ago, no so grand was the name we gave it, we had our day at daughter house, but now home, just the two of us, perfect. Hope you had a good day.
ReplyDeleteHi Rachel. It's very mild here too. Overnight rain. So my gardening plans are quashed. There were just 3 of us for Christmas dinner. Very nice but a very long dragged out day. Only contact outside was with the blogs. Definitely thinking of going somewhere for Christmas nex year. Thanks.
ReplyDeleteWe often walked past The Grand Marlene. We lived near Chester for a few years and often ventured into North Wales. My great grandmother came from Wrexham. Christmas was very very quiet. It must be horrible if you live on your own. Even the pubs are closed in Ireland on Christmas day. Not that you could get to them or afford to drink in them. Very mild here but very muddy under foot. Looking forward to spring and planting time. Happy Christmas.
ReplyDeleteWe went out with a strata for breakfast at my daughter and her fiance and William, and opened presents together. We came home and opened our gifts to each other. Tim watched a football game. We packed up another round of gifts and went to Tim's daughter's house to open gifts with her and her brother and the boys. We came home and spent the rest of the night relaxing. We could have gone to a gathering in between the two activities, but we wanted the quiet space in between.
ReplyDeleteHi Debby. I had to Google strata. It sounds a good breakfast and you had a good day. Our Christmas felt like a Sunday with a feeling of its own. It seems to be quieter every year. I suppose that's countryside living?
ReplyDeleteLucky you stayed at home. We should have come to Ireland for Xmas. It's pouring with rain, damn cold and snowing not far away
ReplyDeleteGosh. I think we have got your mild weather Linda.
DeleteThat's a great Christmas tree Dave. Unique in every way 😀
ReplyDeleteIts certainly environmental and not cutting a tree down just for Christmas JayCee. Just a bit of fun.😃
ReplyDeletePerfect christmas tree Dave - it lives to enhance another turn around the sun. Christmas puts a lot of pressure on people to be different to every other day of their lives, but if you are warm, have sufficient food and know where your next meal is coming from then every day is Xmas. Arra best for new year.
ReplyDeleteThat's what its all about TM. Another turn around the sun. Hope you have a great 2025.
