Some Good Telly Tonight.

Adrian Dunbar presents a programme tonight on Channel 5 at eight PM.  It's  about Irish Coastal Walks:

In tonight's programme he visits Mizen Head which is on to'ther Peninsula to us.   We live in the middle Peninsula which is Sheepshead which is between Mizen and Beara.

The programme will show you  some knock out Irish coastal scenery all from the comfort of your living room.

Fair play to Channel 5 for making such interesting programmes.  Not forgetting Susan Calman tomorrow night when she and her little van go to wonderful Pembrokeshire and it's also on channel five.

  1. I wish I was a celebrity - then a TV channel might pay me to create a travel series "Pudding in Paradise" in which I get to visit ten of the most heavenly islands on the planet. No doubt I would have to take a litter picker and a black plastic waste bag with me.

  2. Sounds a great programme YP. I would list it on my Northsider television channel. Well there is a Dave channel. I am still waiting to be filmed walking with Julia Bradbury on the Sheepshead Way.

  3. Lol. 'Pudding in Paradise' also starring his trusty sidekick 'northsider Dave' (aka Litterman) would be rife with witty banter. Transportation provided by Clint. You could provide advertising for local pubs by filming your meals there (which would be free of course in exchange for being unpaid celebrity spokesmen).

  4. Yep Debby. Welcome aboard. Can we do an American Roadtrip interviewing you, visiting Gracelands, watching Kansas(again)and sampling some real ales in Utah and a trip on Route 66. Well that's the first series.

    1. Go to Utah for real ales???? WHAT???!! My gosh. There are microbreweries and wineries on nearly every corner, seems like. You could do a cross country road trip rating ales. You could start at my son's house. He has a brewery in his garage. The cars stay outside. He also smokes a very fine brisket.

    2. My friend went to Utah with some Mormons and he saw buffaloes and they even brewed and sold real ales. Your son brews his own beer? How cool is that Debby? Real Ales are something I really miss from England.

    3. On a small scale for his own use, but yes. It is a hobby. A very popular one, I might add. We have a "Kitchen Ministry" in our church. The menfolk get together. They make beer and talk about Jesus. I've got 10 breweries within a 20 mile radius of my house. I'll hazard a guess to say that we have the same amount of wineries. PS: An acquaintance raises buffalo out in the woods in Pittsfield, PA. I can also stick you both in kayaks and you can wind your way down the lazy river singing sea shanties. Who needs Utah? To quote the leader of our nation: "Come ON, man."

    4. You all sound really resourceful Debby. I would love to be able to make beer. I don't have the patience to wait for it to ferment. If its strong we might be singing sea shanties winding down the river.😊

  5. YP could take over the BBC4 series "Yorkshire Walks: Shanaz Gulzar seeks inspiration whilst walking through Yorkshire".
Dave, you could do the BBC2 series "Sun, Sea and Bargain Spotting: Gives people the chance to go abroad and earn money from the antiques market"
Suit you both to a T.

    1. I have seen Shanaz Gulzar doing those walks. She is about as inspirational as a dead tree stump.

    2. Mike Harding a Lancastrian who lives in the Yorkshire Dale's would be a good laugh to walk with YP.

    3. I met Mike Harding almost forty years ago in a quiet pub in Ribblesdale. Surprisingly, he did not ask for my autograph. I just checked - he is 76 years old now.

    4. Really! My old friend was once queuing up outside a theatre and Mike walked past and said: " This way for the medical". Interestingly enough he stayed at a bed and breakfast near me and I know the people who lived there when he was writing and filming a book about here and Ireland. I have the book. Mike was also a president of the Ramblers Association and a bus conductor from Manchester to where I was born.

  6. Great ideas. You could present A Place In The Isle Of Man and LA could present A Place In The Sun From Poros. Thanks.

  7. I hope these programmes teach us one day. Would love to see them.
Now and again Poros appears on a travel programme. I've seen it with Joanne Lumley and I think Rick Stein. But not thru my eyes yet

  8. I am sure they will reach you soon Linda. I would love to see programmes about Poros and other Greek islands. At least we have your blog to show us what life is like over there on your piece of paradise.

  9. I like these walking programmes when they don't go too much out of the way looking for stories.

  10. I agree with you Tasker. A good presenter and some local characters makes a very entertaining programme.
