A Drink From Blighty-'Cheers!"

We went to a scrapyard (car dismantlers) in Tralee in County Kerry on Friday.  They are really friendly and helpful for parts and a chat.

Then we went in an off-licence in Tralee that sell beers and wines and spirits from all over Ireland , the world, Europe and even England and co.  I hate it when news presenters say "the UK".

Then we went to a row of shops where Argos just closed down and Iceland were only selling stuff out of the fridge.  Apparently they've  got bankrupt in Ireland.  Wifey got me my Heinz beanz'n'sausage.  No more Vimto or Hollands pies.

It's starting to look like Brexit wasn't a very good idea!

Eh Boris?

  1. Well he said it wouldn't be, until he changed his mind for political expediency, last minute...

  2. You are so right GZ. He claimed that he saw the argument from both sides and chose the stupid one. I think it's sad when you can no longer buy products from your nearest neighbours. Talk about cutting off the hand that feeds you. Thanks!

  5. I remember Heinz Beanz'n'sausage! My kids called it "cowboy" food and pretended to fart all through the meal like the men in "Blazing Saddles". Too bad about the non-availability of the other favourites for you though.

    1. "Blazing Saddles" is a brilliant film River. Mel Brooks is a comic genius. You would think we lived in another continent not being able to buy products from our nearest neighbours.

  6. Sounds like a very good time to own a smallholding, Dave. I'd no idea that things had gotten dire there.

  7. Perhaps I should have a go again at making homebrew Debby? Brexit was very stupid.

  8. Beans N sausage used to be a favourite of mine. Probably not Heinz but good kiwi brand called Watties. Darn nuisance when you can't find tastes you desire. As you say, you're so close.....

    1. Hi Linda. Bill Wyman said he missed Piccalilli when he moved to France. It frustrates me that the supermarkets are full of Continental beers but you can't buy English ones.

  10. Brexit was indeed very stupid. People who voted to leave did not know what they were voting for - how could they? No one knew what Brexit meant. As for the great liar “getting Brexit done”. He didn’t get it done. It’s still not done.

    1. It's a terrible electoral mistake Traveller. A lot of people who votes for it are no longer with us.

  11. Johnson doesn't give a shit - for him Brexit was all just a party game.
Like you I hate the widespread use of the names "United Kingdom" and "UK". Throughout my youth nobody ever used those terms. It was always Great Britain or England if you happened to live in England.

Tight Wad Christmas Tree.

No not the name of a Prog rock band, although  it could be🤔? More like a bit of fun on my part. Someone in the Northsider Towers household...
