Oxford Photos.

A friend or even a member of the Inklings.

The scorched gardens again.
Ancient ancient church and graveyard.
Once a church  now a 🍷 bar.  No beer taps and no cash.  Unbelievable!  Contactless payments are required.
Ancient and modern.

 Well worth Googling.

On the trail of The Inklings, Jude The Obscure, Thomas Hardy and Inspector Morse tomorrow!

  2. Thanks JayCee. It was like the day before at Cropredy 33 degrees. That's why we stopped for the bottles of lager.

  3. One day I might go to Oxford and take a look myself. Perhaps I'll visit the Ashmolean Museum. Thanks for the photos Dave.

  5. Candid and interesting picture of Oxford but did you perchance see David Cameron with a Tamworth pig?

  6. I saw lots of Chinese and Japanese tourists. It's a very busy place full of history and dreamy spires. I would like to visit Cambridge and compare them both. Thanks YP.

  7. I visited Oxford decades ago and like seeing your photos. My Christian mentor is C.S. Lewis so the Inklings are dear to me. Love Dorothy Sayers too. I know a man who helped purchase and preserve Lewis' home, The Kilns.

  8. Glad you like the photos Terra. I have watched Shadowlands over 23 times. The Kilns was named after a former brick works on the site.

  9. Lovely to see Oxford again. Was the fourth photo taken from the Broad Walk beyond Christ College? It looked like it to me. Over 40 years ago, we had wonderful accommodation in the R Catholic Chaplaincy building opposite (The Old Palace) and our enormous bedroom looked out over the entrance garden. You've stirred happy memories. Thank you

  10. Hi Virginia. Yes I think you are right about the photograph. Glad it stirred happy memories. I felt at times like I was walking on famous footprints.
