Kitty Tiger who also sometimes is called Tiger Kitty going for a saunter next to 62 Griselina hedging plants in pots filled with my homemade compost.
It's getting a bit too late for planting bare rooted hedging now because the plants like to put down their roots at this time of year.
Some one I know requested 75 of my hedging plants. I had a look round my plant nursery and managed to rustle up 62 plants.
I will spend a few hours in next week's rain planting my plant pot portable hedge.
I've planted some more cuttings to make up for the 62 that are going to be a new hedge.
It makes up for me not being able to go carbooting on a very wet Bank Holiday weekend.
Sorry about your wet weekend - I got to 2 boot sales!
ReplyDeleteLucky you Sue. I have watching the three Detectorists series and would love to visit the filming locations and Suffolk.
ReplyDeleteBusy busy busy. Sounds as though you love it!
ReplyDeleteYes Linda I have turned into a plantaholic.
ReplyDelete62 plants? That's a lot of planting up.
ReplyDeleteOur rain is arriving today. I think my new little plantlets out in the mud patch are going to be washed away.
I like your new hair style JayCee. There is little soil where they want the Griselina hedge planted. So I potted up the plants in my homemade compost mix and I will take the planting medium in the pots to compensate for the lack of topsoil. 62 plants won't take me long to plant. I planted 200 the other week. Can you not cover the plantlets with some polythene or a upturned wheelbarrow?
ReplyDeleteYour small holding is turning into a hedging plant nursery. Your corner of Ireland will have miles of cloned hedges. Xxx Mr T
ReplyDeleteHi Tigger. I bought 200 Griselinia plants from a man the other week. I helped him dig them up with a fork and spade and we shook the earth off the barerooted hedging. His crotch garden and back garden was full of nothing but New Zealand Privet or Griselinia. He plants cuttings dipped in rooting powder and leaves them to grow for two years and then he sells them. A brilliant way of making an hobby pay and the weeds growing in between keep you busy. We have miles of Fuchsia hedges in the West of Ireland and they originate in Chile.

Boldly going forward 'cause we can't find reverse
Good one YP. No one would be without if there were carboot sales every day or a couple of days a week like they have in Cornwall. Where else can you make cash on a Sunday?
DeleteI love that song! Star-trekkin'...
DeleteIts a good song River.
ReplyDeleteNever heard of that song...had to go look it up. How funny.
ReplyDeleteIt is funny when you miss listening to a song Debby. I thought Echo Beach was by Blondie. Duh.🤔
