Isn't she beautiful? This is 'Algarve' my new polytunnel. We worked like ants last weekend and I am chuffed to bits with the end result. Even on a rainy day we have somewhere to garden and potter about.
Do you like the raised beds? The ones at the front are two rubber tracks off a mini digger that number one son brought home the other day and said: "Raised beds".
He's very resourceful like yours truly and last night after a days work I filled them with fym and topsoil.
It is starting to look really good and I will post some more posts has we fill up Algarve.
Now you never need to fly to The Algarve on holiday! You can just walk out your back door. A great addition to the Northsider country estate.
ReplyDeleteI will hopefully get there again this year or early next year YP. Like that A Team quote goes: "I love it when a plan comes together".
ReplyDeleteF is staying with her bro who has a similar small holding lifestyle and they have been admiring your ingenuity with stuff they have lying around there too. The tracks raised beds made some lightbulbs go off.
ReplyDeleteF's bro and this smallholding sound really interesting Tigger. Please tells us some tails/tales about them on your blog Tigger.
DeleteOh the possibilities! I see many happy hours in there for you. I would need the beds raised a bit higher so I don't have to bend so far.
ReplyDeleteGood point River. Reaching the ground seems further these days River. I have somewhere to garden even on a rainy day.
ReplyDeleteWhich reminds me my small polytunnel and raised beds need attention!
ReplyDeleteYou need any kind of polytunnel or greenhouse in our climate GZ. Look forward to seeing your polytunnel and raised beds on your blog.
ReplyDeleteA great looking tunnel. I bet those raised beds will be full of plants in your next post
ReplyDeleteIsn't it amazing what can make us happy as we get older! Plus lovely sunny weather in the west for a change!!
ReplyDeleteThanks Linda. We made two more raised beds today. I just need to fill them with soil and sow or plant them up.
ReplyDeleteVery true the veg artist. Something that involves lots of work gives us so much joy and satisfaction. It's supposed to be wet here later but a very good weather forecast for the next week. I see lots of silage being made.
